The Mission of Soles of Africa is to save newborn babies were found abandoned in dumpsters and similar environments, and we welcome into our project to become their home and become their family, forever.

In addition to the home for children, around it there are a number of facilities and services for children throughout their development. These are:

  • Catholic chapel
  • Social Dining
  • Pediatric Nursing Dispensary
  • Kinder garden
  • Vocational School
  • Huerta

Home is not a typical orphanage, and is not open to the community. If so we could be causing the abandonment of babies in our doors. Our Home is an extension of Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who give us babies. Local authorities are well aware of this nuance and know that every child leaved on our doors will be immediately give back to the police to take over.

However, other services are themselves open to the community, providing facilities and financial support for its use.

Consequently, the project is divided into five distinct parts but interconnected:

  • Area Home
  • Social Dining
  • Pediatric Clinic
  • Vocational School
  • Hostel and Business center
  • Farm

This first home is located in Kitengela, 45 km south of Nairobi (Kenya). Meets three fundamental characteristics:

  • Financially self-sufficient
  • Ecological and sustainable
  • Employment generators
